Patch 1.10.00 lets your Baby Wyvern grow into a rideable dragon mount. Hatch the egg at Wyvern's Cradle, feed the pet meat once per in-game day until Growth Level 3, then use the Grow prompt. After you have the pet, the growth loop takes about three in-game days.
This guide covers patch 1.10.00 as of June 5, 2026. It walks through egg pickup, hatching, daily feeding, mount registration, optional saddle gear, and the new Kuku Bird Chick mount path added in the same update.
Quick Summary
- Patch: Version 1.10.00 adds growth mechanics for Baby Wyverns and Kuku Bird Chicks.
- Requirement: You need the Baby Wyvern pet first. Hatch it from the Wyvern Egg at Wyvern's Cradle in southwest Delesyia.
- Growth: Summon the pet, drop Marbled Meat or Raw Meat on the ground, and wait for the feed glow. One successful growth feed counts per in-game day.
- Mount unlock: At Growth Level 3, walk up to the pet and select Grow. It becomes a full Wyvern mount you can summon from Special Mounts.
- Time cost: Roughly three in-game days of feeding after patch 1.10 is installed.
- Optional gear: Wyvern Saddle (43 Silver, Randelle in Eastern Hills) and Small Wyvern Aviator Hat from the pet store.
Patch 1.10.00: What Changed for Mounts
Pearl Abyss shipped patch 1.10.00 to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store on June 4, 2026. Pets can now mature into special mounts.
| Mount path | How it works in 1.10.00 |
|---|---|
| Baby Wyvern | Added as a pet in patch 1.08. Patch 1.10 adds Growth Level tracking and the Grow prompt at level 3. |
| Kuku Bird Chick | New pet in 1.10. Hatch from an egg in the Steel Mountains, then feed it to the same growth level 3 cap. |
| Leaping Kuku Bird | Older permanent mount from patch 1.06. Hatches as an adult. Separate from the new chick growth system. |
| Blackstar | Story dragon mount. Still the other major dragon option outside the Wyvern pet route. |
The patch also adds a growth UI in your inventory so you can check pet and horse growth levels without guessing. If your Baby Wyvern predates 1.10, update the game first. The growth bar only appears on the current patch.

Before You Start
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Game version | Patch 1.10.00 or later |
| Ability | Focused Force Palm to open the bismuth-blocked cave |
| Region access | Southwest Delesyia (Wyvern's Cradle area) |
| Food stock | Marbled Meat or Raw Meat for growth feeds |
| Time skip method | Campfire rest, inn sleep, or other day-advance mechanic |
| Spoiler level | No main story spoilers. Light quest references only. |
Clear the Wyvernflame enemies around Wyvern's Cradle before you try to carry the egg. If you are on the Children of the Woods faction quest, speak to Shai in the nest area first. Some players report Focused Force Palm failing near the cave until that NPC interaction is done.
Part 1: Get and Hatch the Wyvern Egg
You cannot skip straight to the mount. The Wyvern only grows from your personal Baby Wyvern pet, not from wild wyverns you temporarily ride after subduing them.
Step 1: Travel to Wyvern's Cradle
Go to Wyvern's Cradle in southwest Delesyia. Map anchors:
- Northwest of Fort Windridge
- West of Dewhaven
- North of Three Brothers' Cliff
- Near the Sanctum of Devotion below Dewhaven
Watch the walkthrough above for the crater, bismuth cave, and nest placement in-game.
Step 2: Open the hidden cave
At the crater, climb the stairs into the pillared cave section. Follow the left wall until you see the bismuth ore blockage with the golden Abyss orb. Use Focused Force Palm on it. The screen flashes yellow on a valid target.
Inside the cave you will find:
- The Wyvern Egg on the right side of the treasure room
- A chest with the Skyblazer helm piece
- Shai, the third Shai NPC tied to Children of the Woods
Step 3: Hatch the egg in a nest
Pick up the egg and carry it to a wyvern nest. The closest nest sits southwest of the cave entrance, marked on your compass. You can also use other nests around the map, but the nearby one saves time.
- Place the egg in the center twig section of the nest. Drop placement matters.
- Wait several minutes in real time until the egg glows and shakes harder.
- Interact with the egg and select Hatch.
- The Baby Wyvern registers automatically as a pet in your inventory.
As a pet, the wyvern hovers near you and loots items from bodies you leave behind. It does not land on your shoulder like smaller bird pets.
Part 2: Grow the Baby Wyvern into a Mount (Patch 1.10)
Open your inventory, go to the Pets tab, and check the Level of Growth bar Pearl Abyss added in 1.10. It starts at level 1.
Growth rules
| Rule | What it means in play |
|---|---|
| Target level | Growth Level 3 unlocks the Grow prompt |
| Food types | Marbled Meat or Raw Meat |
| Feeding method | Summon the pet, then drop meat on the ground while it is flying nearby |
| Success signal | The wyvern lands, eats, and a glow effect confirms the feed counted |
| Daily cap | Only one successful growth feed per in-game day |
| Typical timeline | About three in-game days from level 1 to level 3 |
Marbled Meat is the practical pick. It is common from hunting and cooking loops, and players report it fills growth progress cleanly. Raw Meat works too.
Step-by-step feeding loop
- Summon the Baby Wyvern from the Pets tab.
- Stand still and drop meat on the ground in front of you.
- Wait for the wyvern to descend, eat, and trigger the growth glow.
- Open inventory and confirm the growth bar moved.
- Rest at a campfire or inn to advance to the next in-game day.
- Repeat until Growth Level 3.
- Walk up to the pet and select Grow.
- After the short growth animation, register and ride the adult Wyvern from Special Mounts.
If you dump extra meat on the same day after a successful feed, the level will not move. That is normal. Skip time and try again tomorrow.
Part 3: Riding and Fighting on Your Wyvern
Once evolved, the Wyvern behaves like other legendary special mounts. You can run across terrain, jump, build momentum, and transition into flight for cliff crossings and long-distance travel.
You can attack from the saddle. The adult wyvern hits while you ride it, so it handles dangerous regions better than a ground-only mount.
| Feature | Notes |
|---|---|
| Summon location | Special Mounts tab in inventory |
| Saddle required to ride | No. You can mount right after Grow. |
| Ground travel | Standard mount movement |
| Flight | Jump and air movement after gaining speed |
| Combat | Ranged attacks while mounted |
| Pet equipment | Sigil of Valor works on Baby Wyverns. Phoenix and Iron Eagle support arrives in a later patch. |
Optional: Wyvern Saddle and Aviator Hat
Patch 1.10 also adds dedicated mount and pet cosmetics:
- Wyvern Saddle: 43 Silver from Randelle at the Saddlery in Eastern Hills, Delesyia. Gives 20 Defense as mount equipment.
- Small Wyvern Aviator Hat: Pet store item if you want to keep the baby look on your pet form.
You do not need the saddle to ride. Buy it if you want the +20 Defense and the flight rig look.
Bonus: Kuku Bird Chick Mount (Same Patch)
Update 1.10 also adds the Kuku Bird Chick, a separate pet-to-mount growth line. It uses the same feed-to-level-3 loop after hatching.
| Step | Location / action |
|---|---|
| Find the egg | Steel Mountains, on the boat near the Double-Headed Ax of Greed |
| Carry restriction | You cannot climb while holding the egg. Stick to roads and slopes. |
| Hatch site | Nesting grounds east of Bloodsteel Camp / right side of Blue Steel Camp. Use a non-burnt nest. |
| Grow to mount | Feed meat daily until Growth Level 3, then use Grow |
The Leaping Kuku Bird from patch 1.06 is a different mount. That one hatches as an adult from the Bloodsteel Camp tower egg. The chick route is the new color-variant style growth mount Pearl Abyss added in 1.10.
Other Patch 1.10 Highlights Worth Knowing
If you are already in Pywel when the mount update lands, these sibling changes may affect your route planning:
- Re-Blockade rework: Battle and Reconstruct stages, plus Protection requests through the contribution assessor.
- Pinball minigame: Inn near the Delesyian Institute, with Marni Token Exchange rewards.
- Orb Roll minigame: Great Gate of Urdavah.
- Blackstar: New ground attack skill.
- Quality fixes: Growth UI, Photo Mode tweaks, mount control fixes, and inventory growth tracking for pets and horses.
Troubleshooting
The growth bar does not move after feeding
You likely hit the daily cap. Rest until the next in-game day. Also confirm you saw the feed glow. Dropping meat without a successful eat does not count.
No Grow prompt at level 3
Unsummon and resummon the pet, then walk directly up to it. Make sure you are on patch 1.10.00 and reading the Growth Level field, not Trust.
Focused Force Palm will not open the cave
Talk to Shai if you are on Children of the Woods. Clear remaining Wyvernflame enemies. Aim at the bismuth orb until the yellow flash appears before releasing.
The egg will not hatch
Check nest placement in the center twig area. Wait the full real-time window. Stand close enough for the Hatch prompt.
I cannot climb with the Kuku Bird Egg
That is intentional. Plan a road route before you pick the egg up.
FAQ
Can I get a wyvern mount without the Baby Wyvern pet?
Not as a permanent summon mount. Wild wyverns can be ridden temporarily after subduing them, but the persistent dragon mount comes from hatching and growing your own pet.
How long does the full route take?
Egg pickup and hatching take one short session. Mount growth takes about three in-game days after 1.10, plus the real-time waits between feed days.
Does the Wyvern replace Blackstar?
No. Blackstar remains the story-linked dragon mount. The grown Wyvern is an optional special mount you earn through the pet system.
Do I need the Wyvern Saddle to fly?
No. The saddle is optional equipment with a defense bonus.
Will my old Baby Wyvern from patch 1.08 work?
Yes, as long as you update to 1.10. The growth system applies to existing pets.
Next Steps
Update to patch 1.10.00, hatch the egg if you have not already, then run the three-day feeding loop. Keep meat in your inventory, rest between feed days, and watch the growth UI after each successful meal. Once the wyvern matures, equip an optional saddle in Eastern Hills and use it for cliff routes, long map crossings, and mounted combat.
