Before You Start

  • Perfect Guard wins fights. Blocking at the exact moment an attack lands staggers bosses, recovers your guard HP, and opens Fatal Attack windows. Practice this from the first fight onward.
  • Elemental matchups matter. Puppet (mechanical) bosses take extra damage from Electric Blitz. Carcass (organic) enemies burn fast with Fire. Acid works on late-game puppet and humanoid bosses.
  • Specters help. Use a Star Fragment at the Crack's Calling before a boss fog wall to summon a Specter. They draw aggro and give you breathing room. Equip a Friendship Wishstone to keep yours alive longer.
  • Fury Attacks glow red. You cannot block these normally. Dodge or use a Perfect Guard (tighter timing than a normal parry). If the red glow appears, move first, attack second.
  • Save Boss Ergo. Do not consume Boss Ergo for regular Ergo. Hold them until you reach Alidoro (after Chapter IV) to trade for unique boss weapons.

Main Story Bosses

1. Parade Master

Location: Krat Central Station Plaza
Weakness: Electric Blitz
Recommended Level: 10–15

Lies of p Parade Master

Your first real test. The Parade Master is slow and hits hard, but every swing is telegraphed.

Phase 1: He uses wide arm sweeps and overhead slams. Stay at medium range, wait for a swing to finish, then step in for one or two hits. Back off before he starts the next combo.

Phase 2 (below ~60% HP): He rips off his own head and uses it as a flail, extending his reach. The timings stay the same, but you need more distance before re-engaging. Watch for the two-hit slam combo — dodge the first, punish after the second.

Key tip: Use this fight to drill Perfect Guard timing. His swings are slow enough to learn the parry window, and every successful Perfect Guard builds his stagger bar. When his HP bar flashes white, land a charged heavy attack for a Fatal Attack.

2. Scrapped Watchman

Location: Krat City Hall Courtyard
Weakness: Electric Blitz
Recommended Level: 18–22

Lies of p Scrapped Watchman

The first real wall for many players. The Scrapped Watchman is fast, aggressive, and deals Electric Shock with several attacks.

Preparation: Equip armor with high Electric Shock resistance. Even modest resistance cuts the chip damage during extended combos.

Phase 1: He chains swiping punches into a spinning slam. Watch his hands: when one plants on the ground, an overhead slam follows. Dodge sideways (not backward) and punish the recovery.

Fury Attacks: When he glows red, back off or dodge immediately. These hits break through normal blocks and deal heavy damage. Do not try to trade hits during a Fury sequence.

Phase 2: He speeds up and adds electric ground AoE. Stay mobile. If you are struggling, summon a Specter before the fight to split his attention.

3. King's Flame, Fuoco

Location: Venigni Works
Weakness: Electric Blitz
Recommended Level: 25–30

Lies of p King's Flame, Fuoco

A massive furnace puppet that mixes melee slams with fire projectiles and floor hazards.

Use the pillars. The arena has destructible pillars that block his ranged fire attacks. Position yourself behind them when he starts throwing projectiles, but know they will break after a few hits.

Stay close. Fuoco's melee attacks have long windups and clear recovery windows. Circle-strafe around him and punish after each slam sequence. The Electric Coil Stick or Fulminis Legion Arm deals strong damage here.

Floor fire: When he pours molten metal on the ground, sprint to the far side of the arena. This attack is unblockable and lingers. Do not try to dodge through it.

4. Fallen Archbishop Andreus

Location: St. Frangelico Cathedral
Weakness: Fire (resists Acid and Strike)
Recommended Level: 32–38

Lies of p Fallen Archbishop Andreus

Andreus is a grotesque two-headed Carcass boss. Fire is your best friend here — use the Salamander Dagger, Flamberge Legion Arm, or Fire Grindstone on your main weapon.

Phase 1: He swipes and stomps with well-telegraphed motions. When he arches his head and neck backward, a tongue slam is coming — dodge it, then watch for the follow-up sweep. When the glowing chest/ribcage opens, sprint away from the blast radius.

Phase 2 — the "turtle" trick: When Phase 2 starts, run behind him to the backside (the "turtle" side). If you stay here, he turns around much less often, and you can hit him with the same Phase 1 patterns. Avoid the snake-like front side, which is faster and more dangerous.

Tip: A Specter draws his attention and keeps the front side occupied while you work the safe side.

5. Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood

Location: Malum District
Weakness: Backstabs, Stunlocks
Recommended Level: 38–42

Lies of p Eldest of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood

This fight starts against the Brotherhood's three younger siblings (melee, ranged, and support), then the Eldest joins after you eliminate them.

Manage sibling HP carefully. Get all three siblings to low health before killing any of them. Killing one early triggers the next sibling (or the Eldest) to join sooner, which means fighting more enemies at once.

Backstab the siblings. The younger members are weak to backstabs. Circle behind them while they wind up attacks.

The Eldest: He is slow but has long combo strings. Use the hanging bags in the arena to circle around him. Bait his rushing attacks, dodge sideways, and punish during the long recovery window after each rush.

6. Romeo, King of Puppets

Location: Estella Opera House
Weakness: Electric Blitz (Phase 1) / Acid (Phase 2)
Recommended Level: 42–48

Lies of p Romeo, King of Puppets

A two-part fight: first the massive King puppet, then the fast humanoid Romeo that emerges from it. Bring both Electric and Acid consumables.

Phase 1 — King of Puppets: A large mechanical puppet with wide arm sweeps. Apply Electric Blitz (Electric Abrasive or Grindstone) and focus on breaking his shell. Stay close to avoid the farthest reach of his sweeping arms. Target his stagger meter with Perfect Guards.

Phase 2 — Romeo: Switch to Acid damage. Romeo is fast, aggressive, and chains long combos. Do not panic-roll through his attacks — learn the rhythm instead. He often finishes a combo with a pause where his sword rests at his side. That pause is your window for one or two hits.

Fire combo: When he infuses his weapon with fire and starts a rapid flurry, dodge toward his back or keep distance until the sequence ends. The Aegis Legion Arm is strong here for blocking his combos safely.

7. Champion Victor

Location: Grand Exhibition
Weakness: Acid
Recommended Level: 50–55

Lies of p Champion Victor

A brawler who fights with fists and kicks. His attacks are telegraphed but fast, and he likes to chain them.

Dodge left. Most of Victor's punches and kicks whiff if you dodge to your left (his right). This one habit trivializes large parts of the fight.

Shot Put interrupts Fury Attacks. Keep Shot Put throwables ready. When he glows red for a Fury Attack, throw a Shot Put to stagger him out of the animation. This cancels some of his most dangerous moves.

Acid damage: Apply Acid Abrasive or use an Acid-element weapon. Victor takes noticeable extra damage from Acid, and the buildup slows his recovery.

8. Green Monster of the Swamp

Location: Barren Swamp
Weakness: Fire
Recommended Level: 55–60

Lies of P Green Monster of the Swamp

An endurance fight with two distinct phases. Fire Abrasives, Fire Grindstones, and the Flamberge Legion Arm all work well.

Phase 1 — Puppet-Devouring Monster: He uses wide swipes and a burrowing attack. When he goes underground, backstep or dodge straight backward — he will surface where you were standing. Punish the recovery after each swipe combo, but do not overcommit. He counters if you swing too many times.

Phase 2 — Humanoid Monster: Faster and harder to read. His long-distance charge can be dodged by running in a wide arc behind him as he passes. Summon a Specter if you have not already. Equip a Friendship Wishstone to keep the Specter alive longer — the split aggro makes Phase 2 manageable.

9. Corrupted Parade Master

Location: Barren Swamp Bridge
Weakness: Fire
Recommended Level: 58–62

Lies of p Corrupted Parade Master

A decay-infused remix of the game's first boss. Same body type, new hazards.

Fire still works. Fire Abrasives and Thermite throwables melt his HP bar fast.

Watch the Decay buildup. His attacks now apply Decay status. Keep Attribute Purification Ampoules on your quick belt. If Decay fills, you take a burst of damage and lose HP recovery for a few seconds.

Bait the slams. Stay at medium range and wait for his fist-pound combos. After a series of slams, he pauses long enough for a charged heavy attack. When his HP bar flashes white, land a Fatal Attack.

Ignore adds. If he summons smaller enemies, focus on the boss. The adds die when he does, and chasing them wastes your consumables.

10. Black Rabbit Brotherhood (Rematch)

Location: Relic of Trismegistus
Weakness: Focus fire, backstabs
Recommended Level: 62–66

Lies of p Black Rabbit Brotherhood (Rematch)

The full Brotherhood returns with better coordination. The same "low-HP management" strategy from the first fight applies: weaken all siblings before finishing any.

Priority order: Take out the ranged sibling first to stop incoming projectiles, then the support, then the melee fighter. Save the Eldest for last.

Use the environment. Pillars and obstacles break line of sight. When you need to heal, put a pillar between you and the ranged attacker.

11. Laxasia the Complete

Location: Ascension Bridge
Weakness: Acid
Recommended Level: 68–72

Lies of P Laxasia the Complete

One of the hardest fights in the game. Laxasia is fast, has enormous reach, and applies Electric Shock with most attacks.

Phase 1: She chains delayed combos that look finished but are not. Watch her stance — she is only done when she returns to her resting posture. Use charged attacks to interrupt her before she infuses her sword with electricity. Acid weapons or Acid Abrasives deal the best damage.

Phase 2 — Lightning form: She gains flight and fires lightning projectiles. You can Perfect Guard these projectiles to reflect them back at her. Each reflected bolt deals heavy damage and builds her stagger meter. This is the single best technique for Phase 2 — practice the timing.

Gear: The Perfection Grindstone helps land Perfect Guards against her fast attacks. Stack Electric Shock resistance on your armor.

12. Simon Manus, Awakened God

Location: Arche Abbey
Weakness: Acid, Stagger builds
Recommended Level: 72–78

Simon Manus, Awakened God

Simon Manus hits hard with a massive mace and mixes in AoE energy explosions in Phase 2.

Stay close. His overhead slams and wide side-swipes miss more often at close range. Position yourself near his legs and dodge through his swings rather than away from them.

Identify punish windows. After his overhead slam (he grips the mace with both hands and pauses at the top), dodge sideways and land a heavy attack or Fable Art. After his long side-swipe combos, he rests for about two seconds — enough for two hits and a dodge out.

Phase 2 — Ranged magic: He gains energy projectiles and AoE ground blasts. Most projectiles miss if you sprint sideways. Do not rush in after every ranged attack — wait for him to commit to a melee combo, then punish the recovery.

Block builds work: If parrying his speed is too hard, use a weapon with high damage reduction (block percentage) and focus on stamina management over Perfect Guard timing.

Conditional Final Boss

13. Nameless Puppet

Location: Under the Abyss
Weakness: Acid
Recommended Level: 78–85
Requirement: You must give Geppetto your heart (lie during the final choice) to trigger this fight. Other ending paths skip it.

Lies of p Nameless Puppet

⚠️ Spoiler Warning: This fight reveals story details about the true ending.

The Nameless Puppet is the hardest boss in the base game. It fights with a sword in two phases, and you cannot summon a Specter — this is a solo duel.

Preparation: Apply Acid (Acid Abrasive or Acid Grindstone). Equip the Aegis Legion Arm for safe blocking during combos. Make sure your weight class is not "heavy" — you need full dodge distance and stamina recovery. Keep throwables (Saw Blades, Sharp Pipes, Cluster Grenades) for late-fight emergencies.

Phase 1 — The Duelist: He attacks with predictable slash combos. Stay close, focus on Perfect Guards, and punish when his sword rests on his shoulder or points at the ground (that is the end of a combo). Use Fable Arts during these windows for burst damage.

Phase 2 — The Berserker: He becomes faster and more erratic. Switch your approach from blocking to dodging — roll toward his back and side rather than away. His sword has long reach, and backing up keeps you in the danger zone longer.

Use the Perfect Grinder at the start of Phase 2 to get through the opening burst safely and build stagger. Do not get greedy. Wait for the end of his long sweeping combos, land one or two hits, then reset your stamina.

If your build is not working: Respec into more Vitality, Stamina, or Capacity (weight). The extra survivability gives you more room to learn his patterns without dying in two hits.

Notable Bosses

Mad Donkey

Location: Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard
Type: Human Stalker
Tip: Circle behind him while he winds up attacks and land backstabs. He moves like a player character, so dodging works better than blocking for this fight. Keep it patient — two hits, back off, repeat.

Mad Donkey

Puppet of the Future

Location: Venigni Works, side area
Tip: A heavy puppet with slow attacks. Electric Blitz damage and basic dodge-punish patterns handle this fight. Focus on stagger buildup.

The Atoned

Location: St. Frangelico Cathedral, lower level
Tip: A Carcass mini-boss weak to Fire. Watch for his grab attack — it is unblockable and deals massive damage. Bait it, sidestep, and punish.

Walker of Illusions

Location: Lorenzini Arcade
Tip: Fights with a mirror version of your own weapon. Match your best weapon type and out-damage the copy. Perfect Guards give you a clear edge since the illusion does not block as well as it attacks.

Door Guardian

Location: Arche Abbey gate
Tip: Mixes puppet and human attack patterns. Acid damage and Specters work well. Watch for his delayed second hit on overhead slams — many players dodge the first and walk into the second.

Overture DLC Bosses

The Lies of P: Overture DLC (released June 6, 2025) adds a prequel chapter accessible after Chapter 9. Reach the Hotel Krat Stargazer and repair it to unlock the "Forgotten Time" area. The expansion includes seven story bosses, a hidden boss, and the Boss Rematch system (Battle Memories and Death March modes).

Tyrannical Predator

Location: Savanna Experience Center
Weakness: Fire
Tip: Stay at medium distance to one side, not directly in front. Conserve stamina for guards rather than constant attacking. Fire Abrasives or Thermite deal strong damage. His charges are telegraphed — dodge sideways when you see him lower his body.

Lies of P Tyrannical Predator

Markiona, Puppeteer of Death

Location: Greenhouse Interior
Weakness: Acid (Markiona), Electric + Blunt (Queen's Arche Puppet minion)
Tip: Kill the Queen's Arche Puppet minion first. It distracts you while Markiona attacks from range. Once the puppet is down, Markiona becomes a more standard fight — apply Acid and punish her melee combos during recovery.

Combat Fundamentals That Apply to Every Boss

Perfect Guard over dodge. Dodging works, but Perfect Guard builds stagger, recovers your guard HP, and opens Fatal Attack opportunities. Dodging does none of those. Practice Perfect Guard against every boss, even if you rely on dodging as a backup.

One or two hits, then reset. The most common death in Lies of P is squeezing in a third hit when the boss is already starting the next combo. Hit once or twice, dodge out, and wait for the next opening.

Upgrade your weapon. If a boss feels like a damage sponge, your weapon upgrade level may be behind the curve. Check with Eugenie at Hotel Krat and spend materials before retrying.

Switch Legion Arms. The Flamberge melts Carcass enemies. The Fulminis wrecks puppets. The Aegis blocks combo-heavy humanoid bosses. Match your Legion Arm to the boss type.

Spend your observation runs. If you keep dying, spend one or two attempts watching the boss instead of attacking. Learn the combo strings, count the hits, and find the pauses. The patterns do not change.

FAQ

What is the hardest boss in Lies of P?
Most players rank the Nameless Puppet, Laxasia the Complete, and the King of Puppets (specifically the Romeo phase) as the top three. Laxasia's delayed combos and Phase 2 lightning catch even experienced players off guard.

Can I summon help for every boss?
You can summon a Specter with a Star Fragment for most boss fights. The Nameless Puppet is the exception — that fight is solo only.

Should I consume Boss Ergo or trade it?
Trade it. After Chapter IV, the NPC Alidoro exchanges Boss Ergo for unique weapons and amulets. These items are not available any other way.

Does the Overture DLC change base game boss difficulty?
The Overture patch (June 2025) added selectable difficulty levels and balance adjustments. If you play on the default setting, base game bosses should feel similar to the original release.

What weapon type is best for boss fights?
There is no single best weapon. Greatswords deal more stagger per hit. Rapiers and daggers let you sneak in hits during shorter windows. Pick whatever weapon lets you play around your dodge and Perfect Guard comfort level, then upgrade it as far as your materials allow.

How do I access the Overture DLC bosses?
Reach Chapter 9, repair the Hotel Krat Stargazer, and enter the "Forgotten Time" area. The DLC content starts there.
